Key West sculptor Bill Lorraine chooses a very special indigenous
stone as his medium. He collects the corner stones of local
Victorian-era Conch houses. He writes, “They are the
symbols of the determination of the early Conch families to
survive the extremes of the weather in Key West: hurricanes,
tropical thunderstorms and summer monsoons. These stones are
literally shaped by the history of Key West.”
