David Greenwood has a distinguished artistic career. About
his 25-year retrospective solo exhibition in 1993, Judith
Sobol, director, writes, “A body of work that securely
places David Greenwood among those artists who are poets of
our modern sensibilities: the search for ties that bind our
individual autobiographies together; the value of questions
as more important than answers to understanding the world;
the joy of surprise and even humor as unexpecteds collide
and create new unities; and the sheer and unrivaled passion
unleashed by standing at the edge of the aesthetically unsafe.”
Greenwood lives and teaches in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
